Planto is a tiny offline app. There's no account, no login, and no analytics. Your plant lives on your computer and nowhere else.
What Planto stores
Your plant's state — species, name, water level, mood, age — is saved locally inside Planto's app container. It never leaves your Mac.
What Planto sends
Planto makes one kind of network request: it asks Open-Meteo for the current weather at your approximate location, so your plant feels the same sky you do. Open-Meteo is a free public weather API — no API key, no account. Read their terms.
Location
Planto uses macOS Core Location to figure out which city to ask Open-Meteo about. Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo only and never stored by Planto.
No tracking
No cookies, no tracking pixels, no third-party SDKs, no telemetry. None.
